Summer Wardrobe/Wishlist

I have just finished my last GCSE exam which means that it is now officially summer for me!! I feel as if a weight has been lifted off my shoulders and I'm 100% ready for 2 months of no worries and no cares; just sun, sea, sand, lots of fashion and the prospect of a very aesthetically pleasing instagram!!

As soon as I got home from my last exam, I threw on some comfy clothes and made a small Zara order (it wasn't small at all), I'm thinking of it as a 'you just finished your exams and you can shop as much as you like' treat. Sounds reasonable, right

In the last few months I've been collecting the odd summer items here and there yet I haven't had a 'proper summer shop' - and we jut couldn't have that could we!? This year (if you hadn't already noticed) Zara is my go to shop - online and in store - they have just had such lovely collections this entire year thus far.

I had a little panic when I realised that it was the sales, as sales normally means that everything I want to buy in my size is out of stock. Luckily the majority of what I wanted to order was still in stock minus a couple of items unfortunately.

This year I've done a pretty mature thing (if I do say so myself) and I've decided the stick to a colour palette when buying my summer wardrobe. Most of the items I've bought are either white, denim, blue or a neutral pink and some black items for good measure. I wanted to be able to mix all my items together so I wasn't limited to only a few outfits.

My whole 'vibe' this summer is a very laid back, easy to throw on yet whilst still keeping my own girly style with off the shoulder shirts and lace items. I ordered an excessive amount of body's this year and I think they are going to be some holy grail pieces in my wardrobe as they are soooo easy to style and throw on. They can also be adapted to different weathers - a body can be worn with a pair of shorts whilst on holiday, but with a pair of jeans and a bomber if the weather in London is being a little temperamental.

Most of my 'Summer Wardrobe' this year has been from Zara, however shoes wise Topshop has been where I have found what I was looking for!

My mum found a gorgeous pair of espadrilles from Kurt Geiger, (I'm still very much envious of them) yet me and my ant size feet don't quite fit into Kurt Geiger shoes so I had to look elsewhere... I wanted the platform style espadrilles as I think they look cool, and are also comfier to wear. I eventually found some espadrilles that fit my needs in Topshop however they were all sold out online so I'm going to have to make a trip to the Topshop on Oxford street (which overwhelms me greatly) to pick them up.

Once last thing gracing my summer wardrobe this year are scarves. You know those cute little bandana style scarves (that are being worn around the neck and as head bands) that were all the rage in the 90's and are once again being seen on each and every fashionista. I ordered two from Zara as I couldn't decide which I liked more. I ordered a classic red paisley print bandana style scarf, and one with different shades of blue. I think the red one will look so cool with denim and white and the blue again with denim. I also thought they would look cute on holiday to pull my hair back when on the beach or by the pool.

What kind of style is your summer wardrobe coveting ? Leave a comment, I'd love to know.

Kisses,
Maija Lily Xx
