Gucci Love

Gucci has had a lot of hype surrounding it as of late, and I'm definitely part of that hype. Every since the genius that is Alessandro Michele took over and totally rebranded Gucci flocks of fashionistas have been moving in and taking on every item he creates; from the totally swoon worthy embellished Dionysus bags to the fur lined Princetown slip-ons that look like they have the comfort of the infamous ugg slipper but with the style factor of, well, a Gucci shoe!

Gucci have done a total 360 going from being a bit of a no go brand, to a luxury must have. It's this idea that makes me really respect Alessandro as he was able to take the brand, modernise it and completely transform it's image.

Now, I don't tend to like being a sheep - following the crowd and all that - but in this case i'll happily give in to following the wooly crowd (hooves and all) as I have without a doubt caught the Gucci bug - and it's getting dangerous!

For my birthday, my lovely parents got me the Gucci sneakers with the hearts on the toes... so cute!! Ever since I got them back in October, I have been completely obsessed with them and have been wearing them every chance I get - minus in the torrential rain that has been pretty frequent recently - I've just found that they match the majority of the clothes in my wardrobe, which is very convenient!

Then just the other day, after months and months of lusting, I also made yet another Gucci purchase (told ya I'm obsessed!) which was the Gucci 'GG Marmont matelassé mini bag' in the colour hibiscus red... isn't it just so dreamy!!

Yet another new accessory I'm sporting in this look is my GigiXTommy baker boy/sailor hat from Gigi Hadid's first collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger. I got it for christmas a couple months ago and have only just managed to style it with an outfit!

I really love this look, and think it is very representative of my style as of late; easy to throw on but still chic! The blazer and hat transform the simple jeans and knit look and create a stylish look worthy of fashion week (if I do say so myself!)

Jumper - Topshop (last year)
Jeans - Topshop (petite moto jeans)
Blazer - Zara (last season)
Shoes - Gucci
Bag - Gucci
Hat - GigiXTommy (Tommy Hilfiger old season)

The gorgeous embroidered blazer (courtesy of 'Mummy's wardrobe') really pulls together the look with accents of red to tie in with the shoes and bag.

I know, I know I haven't posted a blog is such a long time - and it really does kill me to say that - but I really wanted my next post to be an outfit post yet every time I had a chance to shoot, the heavens would open and all chances of taking photos of an outfit went out the window! So I'm so happy to get this up and am really going to try and keep up regularly posting blogs.

Also, a bit of an update! I've started writing for 'Debut Magazine' - which is super exciting for me and definitely a nod in the right direction for the career I hope to go into - so if you ever have a spare moment it would be great if you checked out some of my posts which I've written for their online site!

How is everyone? Wishing for some Spring weather I'm sure, I'm currently battling a relentless cold that just seems to want to linger so all I want right now is a bit of sun, haha !

Kisses,
Maija Lily Xx
