PATCHWORK

Okay, think patchwork - less scarecrow in Kansas and more... Coach Runway SS16 and you have my latest clothing obsession. The patchwork skirt.

This was a last minute 'oh my gosh its my birthday tomorrow and I don't have anything to wear' purchase - which I didn't even end up wearing on my birthday. Yet I loved it too much to return and also felt it would be very versatile for these upcoming autumn/winter months and so it was absolutely necessary for me to keep the skirt - right?

Navy, Camel, Maroon and black aka my favourite colours to wear as of late. It was like this skirt and I were meant to be... don't you think.

Here's the issue though, here in London when autumn arrives it really is autumn and by that I mean its very bloody cold. So even though skirts look 'oh so adorable', I would much rather be wearing my undoubtably comfy Victoria Secret jogging bottoms. However, this almighty skirt is so powerful that it makes the cold totally disappear (I'm totally joking - I was abso-freaking-lutely freezing) yet I powered through it because, well, I'm deeply in love with the skirt. Plus, I'm trying to do this 'thing' where I don't just wear jeans every day of the week - in other words I'm trying to be more adventurous.

Styling the skirt was pretty easy as there are multiple colours in it. I settled with my ever so trusty black chunky knit as well as my new over the knee boots along with my camel coat - which I feel will be a regular on my blog.

After not seeing my cousin Zoe for atleast a month, we decided it was around time we met up. So we met in central London for a very cute and yummy Wholefoods picnic, where we did nothing other than gossip...

We went and sat in our favourite little 'park' in London - Hanover Square. I always say its crazy that one minute you can be on the absolutely hectic streets of central London; literally being pushed from side to side, then you turn down one road and you suddenly enter an abyss of peacefulness. It's crazy, but, thats London for you!

I was telling Zoe today just how much Ive fallen for Autumn this year. Ive always loved the gorgeous leaves, but this year Ive just been embracing every ounce I possibly can. From the fashion -ohhh the fashion- to the crisp autumn air. It's safe to say I've become a true autumn addict.

Coat - Zara
Jumper - Topshop (last year)
Skirt - Zara
Boots - Stuart Weitzman

Have you fallen for autumn ?

Let's Talk (Green) Tea

Okay so I'm gonna get straight to the point, I'm obsessed with herbal teas - green tea to be precise (hence my blogs name) yet I feel so many people shy away from green tea after trying it just once, or even just after looking at the slightly green colour.

In all honesty, the first time I tried green tea I gagged trying to keep down one sip (TMI I know). So my grandma suggested that I try this 'Moroccan mint green tea' from a tea brand called 'dragonfly'; the taste was a lot softer you could say, in other words, it was just easier to drink. After drinking this for a couple weeks my taste buds adjusted to the taste of green tea so I was then able to drink normal green tea.

So a tip: if you don't like normal green tea straight away, don't forget about it completely, try a mint green tea to help your taste buds adjust.

The reason I was so adamant to like green tea was because the health benefits of the herbal tea are just endless

For starters, green tea acts as a natural metabolism booster and has been shown to increase the fat burning rate. Which should automatically draw your attention!

Green tea is oozing with antitoxins (which I know doesn't sound like a good thing but trust me antitoxins = good sign) one of its strongest antitoxins - EGCG - is said to help kill cancer cells, inhibit the absorption of cholesterol from the large intestine and reduce allergies as it can block the key receptor involved in an allergic reaction. Impressive, I know.

Tempted yet?

My favourite brand for green teas is 'clipper teas' (yes, I do have a favourite tea brand) as they have SO many options. Some of my favourites are their 'mint green tea', 'jasmine decaf green tea' and their 'pear & honey green tea' - I'm pretty sure I've even raved about these teas in some of my favourites blog posts... I'm a true devoted fan, haha.

So are you now running out the door to go and stock up on green teas?? You're not ?? What about if I told you green tea is also supposed to help with old age... Yep there you go, haha.

But seriously the health benefits to green tea are just so worth the first few cups of bitter taste, just until you get used to the taste and then start to enjoy it like did.

Anything and Everything Autumnal

Scarves. Yes, scarves. That's all that's on my mind at the moment - and I'm slightly embarrassed at just how true that statement is.

It's crazy, I've gone from absolutely dreading autumn and it's chilly weather to embracing it with open arms. I've gone from hating layering and scarves and roll necks to buying a whole new wardrobe consisting of just roll necks and soon to be scarves - if no one stops me (that's a silent plea for help... anyone...)

But anyway, my newly discovered love for anything and everything autumnal has brought my attention to my lack of scarves; and by lack of scarves I mean absolutely no scarves. Zilch. So like any other person in desperate need of a scarf, I turned to the ever so trusty shop which I just knew would fulfil my needs - Zara.

Zara - where you are guaranteed to find your dream scarf. Is that their catchphrase? No? Well it should be!

It was over whelming at first. There was cashmere, faux fur, 'extra soft', plaid, snake-print, the lists were never ending. It was like a series of elimination; "no, not snake print" and "no, I'm not going to spend 80 quid on a scarf".

I somehow managed to narrow my search down to about 5 scarves. All that I'm seriously obsessed with.

Can I buy them all???!!!

Does anyone share my current scarf fetish and if so where do you shop for your's? (I probably shouldn't know of anymore at my current rate, ahah!!)

My Birthday: A Sweet Sixteenth

18.10.15

So, I have this 'thing' where I try and stretch out my birthday for as long as I possibly can - last year I did a blog about my 'birthday weekend', and not only did I enjoy writing it at the time, I often love to look back at it to 'reminisce' the day. So I thought I would again blog my birthday so I can look back at it in the not so distant future.

16. Wow. It's going to be very interesting telling other people that I'm now sixteen when I can't quite get my head around it myself. 16 always seemed so old to a younger version of myself, yet, (I have to break it to you) it really doesn't feel that different.

Some people may start their birthday with a nice relaxing lay-in, but no not me, I like to 'savour every minute of the day' I guess you could say. So my day started rather early (for a Sunday) with me feeling very loved whilst opening all my cards and presents.

I then got ready for the day - whilst swimming in 10ft of wrapping paper.

For my birthday outfit I wore;
Blouse - Asos
Shorts - Topshop
Coat - Zara
Boots - Zara
Bag - Balenciaga

Once ready; my mum, grandma and myself all headed to Covent Garden to the Louis Vuitton Series 3 exhibition which was AMAZING!!! We got to see all the new collection as well as see the process of the making of the classic LV hard clutch. There was also a section where we could touch a selection of the pieces from the collection which was so cool.

After that very exciting experience we headed to my favourite place in the world... Yes you guessed it: Laduree. Honestly, it's becoming a bit of a birthday tradition to go there on my birthday. I had a green tea (of course) as well as the French toast which was life changing, no joke.

Once I had drank around 4 cups of tea we decided to have a mooch about and looked in all my favourite shops though surprising I didn't buy anything!

We then got back on the tube and headed to Oxford Circus (which thankfully was only 1 stop) for my early birthday dinner. Yet, not before stopping in on the unmissable and massive Topshop. Where I did in fact buy a new pair of jeans and a jumper (gotta get that winter wardrobe going).

Now with a Topshop bag in my hand, we walked the little way to Berners Tavern to meet my dad, little brother and best friend for an early birthday dinner. The restaurant had the most amazing interior, I was awe-truck. I had the most amazing time as well as the most amazing dinner (definitely could eat it right now). After feeling as if I had eaten enough to feed a small country we headed back home to watch the Xfactor (is anyone else watching it??) and had a nice night it.

I had the most amazing, unforgettable 16th birthday and I'm excited to see what my new year brings.

Current Makeup Wishlist

I am a slave to fashion, that's no secret, but there is nothing quite like feeling when you purchase new makeup. My makeup collection is quite very big, and yet I always seem to use the same few products; so recently I've been digging around my collection and I've been trying out lots of different products that I've pushed to the side. This is when I decided to make a Wishlist of some makeup products that I've been eyeing up recently.

1. Anastasia Beverly Hill dipbrow pomade  - This has been around for a while now and I've read countless good reviews on it but I have just never got round to purchasing it, one of the reasons being that they don't sell it in a store here in the uk which means I wouldn't know the correct shade that I would need, and for makeup I always prefer to try it before I buy it. But the next time I see it I will definitely be adding it to my makeup collection.

2. Wicked velvetine liquid lipstick - If you haven't heard of these... Where have you been ?! But seriously, these are soooo cool; they are a liquid gloss consistency when in the bottle then once you put it on your lips it dries into a matte lipstick !! This is yet another product I've just never got around to ordering because there is always something else to spend my money on but this is definitely one thing I'd love to try out.

3. theBalm Cindy Lou manizer - I've actually only just heard about this product after watching a 'glowy makeup' tutorial on YouTube yet now I want it probably the most out of all these products. I've read many reviews on this highlighter and they are all so good which had just made me 100% more sure that I want to buy it. From what I've seen it gives a really natural glow to your skin.

4. Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette - Out of all the three naked palettes this is definitely my favourite; I love all the golds and pinks and they are definitely the kind of colours that would go with my everyday makeup look whilst still looking quite natural. I actually recently just found out that there is a Urban Decay store in Covent Garden!

5. Dior star fluid foundation - My cousin, Zoe, got this foundation for her birthday back in June and I've been lusting over it ever since - the one thing missing from my makeup collection is a good foundation. I always like a Dewy finish to my makeup rather than a matte finish and after reading some reviews on this foundation where people said it gives a semi Dewy finish without it looking oily, I was sold.

6Hourglass Ambient lighting edit Palette  - Just look at it !!! How amazing does it look, the packaging is gorgeous and the products look gorgeous... Need I say more? This product has actually not been released yet although I'm not embarrassed to admit I'm counting down the days till it is.

7. Charlotte Tilbury colour chameleon - I always enjoy walking past the Charlotte tilbury makeup counter in the Selfridges beauty hall, everything is just so beautifully packaged, right !? This is again a product that I just haven't got round to purchasing as I've seen it a lot and I'm most definitely sold about it. Each colour is suited for different eye colours e.g. For blue eyes there is a lovely champagne gold colour which I've got my eyes on.

8. Charlotte Tilbury Lipcheat Liner in Pillow Talk - I've never actually seen this liner in real life only on other people but I've heard enough about it that I'm pretty sure I could buy it without even seeing it with no hesitation, I've heard so many people brag about this product as the perfect natural nude colour. Definitely one I want to try out as I love my nudes, haha.

9. Charlotte Tilbury matte revolution lipstick in Glastonberry - I'm never one to shy away from a dark lip, in fact I would happily wear a dark lip everyday. Although I have to say a dark lip always looks best in autumn when it contrasts with all the gorgeous autumnal colours. If I do manage to get my hands on this colour I'm pretty sure I'll be wearing it at any chance I get.

So there you have it; all the makeup I'm currently lusting over (Is that odd number annoying you as much as its annoying me???).

Is there any makeup your currently wishing for ?
