15 Movies For a Cosy Winter Night In

Winter is officially here, and by that I mean I'm now going to bed wrapped in five blankets, oh, and the UGG boots are also back out...

Now that the winter chills have arrived, my inspiration to go out is next to nothing and I'm much more likely to be found cuddled up on the sofa with far too many blankets and a nice cup of green tea (no surprise there though); whilst watching my favourite 'cosy night in' movies of course.

1. Home alone

Probably - no - definitely one of my all time favourite films. Well, this one and number 2!! It wouldn't be winter without watching this a couple (hundred) times.

2. Harry Potter

(the entire series, that is). My little brother and I have this 'unofficial christmas tradition' where we start the Harry Potter series 8 weeks before christmas day and watch one every week.

3. Clueless

For me, Clueless is that movie that I can put on and it can just instantly make me feel better. It's perfect for a cute girly night in.

4. Elf

Do I really need to explain this one? Elf is a christmas film that can be watched all year 'round and it should be on repeat during the festive season, seriously who doesn't love elf? My friend has actually been comparing me to buddy the elf at the moment due to my constant christmas music singing. I actually recently saw it in theatre and it was so amazing and funny.

5. 10 things I hate about you

If you haven't seen this, please immediately watch it right now!! Who doesn't want to watch Heath Ledger sing "I love you baby" on a football pitch? Much like Clueless, this is an easy watch and the perfect movie for a girls night in.

6. Love Actually

A 'classic' British festive film. I'm not sure that I could go a Christmas without watching this movie at least once. Perfect if your looking for a 10 on the cute scale (and yes, there's a cute scale).

7. Grease

I have been obsessed with this film ever since I was little and watched it on repeat with my mum. So now this movie is just a must when having a movie night in. Who doesn't wanna watch the T-birds sing grease lighting whilst fixing a car?

8. Breakfast at Tiffany's

A classic for any audrey lover, and a must watch for a cosy night in.

9. How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Would it be christmas if you haven't watched 'how the grinch stole christmas' at least once? No, is the answer. So go watch it, quick.

10. The Great Gatsby

I am truly mesmerised by this movie. The totally individual and different characters, the clothes (especially), the music, the parties and most importantly Gatsby's love for Daisy.

11. Mean Girls

Is it really even a movie night if you haven't watched mean girls and recited every word?? "on wednesday's we wear pink"

12. The Devil Wears Prada

I am absolutely obsessed with this film, enough said...

13. Pretty Woman

Yet another classic that would be criminal to not watch at a movie night.

14. Tangled

After Sleeping Beauty (which was my childhood favourite princess), Tangled is most definitely my favourite movie.

15. The Notebook

The ultimate chic flick guaranteed to make any girl cry. Which again, would be a criminal offence to not watch at a movie night (get a box of tissues as tears are unavoidable).

So, here's a list of movies if your stuck on what to watch on a cosy winter movie night in.

Green Tea, Vogue and Me Turns 2 !!

Whether it's your birthday or not, birthdays are always exciting. And it just so happens to be that today is my blogs 'birthday' !! Two today.

I said it this time last year (and I'll say it again) but its just so crazy to think that for two whole years I've been posting blogs about my 'monthly must haves' or my 'outfits of the day'. It makes me wonder what my blog will be like in another two years... will I still have the same page layout? Will I have a bigger following? Will I still get the same thrill of excitement when uploading a new post? Well, I'm pretty sure I can answer that last one now, and that the answer will be 'of course'.

But seriously, even after two years, pressing that publish button is still so exciting. Or when I get a comment my face immediately lights up just at the thought of other people reading my words, am I the only one?

Yet the best feeling ever for me is just after I've shot an outfit, and I look back at the photos to find them to be just how I imagined them to look...

So all in all I would just like to thank anyone who's commented on any of my posts as you have no idea how much it means to me.

To another year of blogging. Hopefully full of many posts, many outfits and many monthly favourites.

High Necks & Knee Highs

Is it just me or is that a tongue twister and a half...

High necks and knee highs... High necks and kn-

I'm getting distracted, but back to business, this clothing combo is currently my go-to outfit as it is just so comfortably chic. There is also something so satisfying about putting on a high neck jumper in the autumn, don't ask me why  - there just it.

My favourite place to shop at the moment is Zara (and you will know that if you've read any of my previous posts... I need to be stopped). I have found some lovely plain high neck jumpers that are neither to thin nor to thick which I ended up purchasing in three colours; camel, navy and grey (no surprise there). I have found them to be so versatile in my wardrobe; on a lazy day I'm wearing them with leggings, on a day where I need to look slightly more presentable I'm wearing them with jeans or a skirt - basically they can be worn with anything and everything.

As you can probably tell, I'm loving the 'nude' tones at the moment, they seem to be the easiest colour to 'throw' on with absolutely anything for an effortlessly chic look.

Coat - Zara
Jumper - Zara
Jeans - Topshop
Boots - Stuart Weitzman
Bag - Balenciaga

In other news its only the 19th of November and yet I already have Christmas songs playing on repeat, who's really complaining though... nobody can object to a little early christmas festivities.

PATCHWORK

Okay, think patchwork - less scarecrow in Kansas and more... Coach Runway SS16 and you have my latest clothing obsession. The patchwork skirt.

This was a last minute 'oh my gosh its my birthday tomorrow and I don't have anything to wear' purchase - which I didn't even end up wearing on my birthday. Yet I loved it too much to return and also felt it would be very versatile for these upcoming autumn/winter months and so it was absolutely necessary for me to keep the skirt - right?

Navy, Camel, Maroon and black aka my favourite colours to wear as of late. It was like this skirt and I were meant to be... don't you think.

Here's the issue though, here in London when autumn arrives it really is autumn and by that I mean its very bloody cold. So even though skirts look 'oh so adorable', I would much rather be wearing my undoubtably comfy Victoria Secret jogging bottoms. However, this almighty skirt is so powerful that it makes the cold totally disappear (I'm totally joking - I was abso-freaking-lutely freezing) yet I powered through it because, well, I'm deeply in love with the skirt. Plus, I'm trying to do this 'thing' where I don't just wear jeans every day of the week - in other words I'm trying to be more adventurous.

Styling the skirt was pretty easy as there are multiple colours in it. I settled with my ever so trusty black chunky knit as well as my new over the knee boots along with my camel coat - which I feel will be a regular on my blog.

After not seeing my cousin Zoe for atleast a month, we decided it was around time we met up. So we met in central London for a very cute and yummy Wholefoods picnic, where we did nothing other than gossip...

We went and sat in our favourite little 'park' in London - Hanover Square. I always say its crazy that one minute you can be on the absolutely hectic streets of central London; literally being pushed from side to side, then you turn down one road and you suddenly enter an abyss of peacefulness. It's crazy, but, thats London for you!

I was telling Zoe today just how much Ive fallen for Autumn this year. Ive always loved the gorgeous leaves, but this year Ive just been embracing every ounce I possibly can. From the fashion -ohhh the fashion- to the crisp autumn air. It's safe to say I've become a true autumn addict.

Coat - Zara
Jumper - Topshop (last year)
Skirt - Zara
Boots - Stuart Weitzman

Have you fallen for autumn ?

Let's Talk (Green) Tea

Okay so I'm gonna get straight to the point, I'm obsessed with herbal teas - green tea to be precise (hence my blogs name) yet I feel so many people shy away from green tea after trying it just once, or even just after looking at the slightly green colour.

In all honesty, the first time I tried green tea I gagged trying to keep down one sip (TMI I know). So my grandma suggested that I try this 'Moroccan mint green tea' from a tea brand called 'dragonfly'; the taste was a lot softer you could say, in other words, it was just easier to drink. After drinking this for a couple weeks my taste buds adjusted to the taste of green tea so I was then able to drink normal green tea.

So a tip: if you don't like normal green tea straight away, don't forget about it completely, try a mint green tea to help your taste buds adjust.

The reason I was so adamant to like green tea was because the health benefits of the herbal tea are just endless

For starters, green tea acts as a natural metabolism booster and has been shown to increase the fat burning rate. Which should automatically draw your attention!

Green tea is oozing with antitoxins (which I know doesn't sound like a good thing but trust me antitoxins = good sign) one of its strongest antitoxins - EGCG - is said to help kill cancer cells, inhibit the absorption of cholesterol from the large intestine and reduce allergies as it can block the key receptor involved in an allergic reaction. Impressive, I know.

Tempted yet?

My favourite brand for green teas is 'clipper teas' (yes, I do have a favourite tea brand) as they have SO many options. Some of my favourites are their 'mint green tea', 'jasmine decaf green tea' and their 'pear & honey green tea' - I'm pretty sure I've even raved about these teas in some of my favourites blog posts... I'm a true devoted fan, haha.

So are you now running out the door to go and stock up on green teas?? You're not ?? What about if I told you green tea is also supposed to help with old age... Yep there you go, haha.

But seriously the health benefits to green tea are just so worth the first few cups of bitter taste, just until you get used to the taste and then start to enjoy it like did.

Anything and Everything Autumnal

Scarves. Yes, scarves. That's all that's on my mind at the moment - and I'm slightly embarrassed at just how true that statement is.

It's crazy, I've gone from absolutely dreading autumn and it's chilly weather to embracing it with open arms. I've gone from hating layering and scarves and roll necks to buying a whole new wardrobe consisting of just roll necks and soon to be scarves - if no one stops me (that's a silent plea for help... anyone...)

But anyway, my newly discovered love for anything and everything autumnal has brought my attention to my lack of scarves; and by lack of scarves I mean absolutely no scarves. Zilch. So like any other person in desperate need of a scarf, I turned to the ever so trusty shop which I just knew would fulfil my needs - Zara.

Zara - where you are guaranteed to find your dream scarf. Is that their catchphrase? No? Well it should be!

It was over whelming at first. There was cashmere, faux fur, 'extra soft', plaid, snake-print, the lists were never ending. It was like a series of elimination; "no, not snake print" and "no, I'm not going to spend 80 quid on a scarf".

I somehow managed to narrow my search down to about 5 scarves. All that I'm seriously obsessed with.

Can I buy them all???!!!

Does anyone share my current scarf fetish and if so where do you shop for your's? (I probably shouldn't know of anymore at my current rate, ahah!!)

My Birthday: A Sweet Sixteenth

18.10.15

So, I have this 'thing' where I try and stretch out my birthday for as long as I possibly can - last year I did a blog about my 'birthday weekend', and not only did I enjoy writing it at the time, I often love to look back at it to 'reminisce' the day. So I thought I would again blog my birthday so I can look back at it in the not so distant future.

16. Wow. It's going to be very interesting telling other people that I'm now sixteen when I can't quite get my head around it myself. 16 always seemed so old to a younger version of myself, yet, (I have to break it to you) it really doesn't feel that different.

Some people may start their birthday with a nice relaxing lay-in, but no not me, I like to 'savour every minute of the day' I guess you could say. So my day started rather early (for a Sunday) with me feeling very loved whilst opening all my cards and presents.

I then got ready for the day - whilst swimming in 10ft of wrapping paper.

For my birthday outfit I wore;
Blouse - Asos
Shorts - Topshop
Coat - Zara
Boots - Zara
Bag - Balenciaga

Once ready; my mum, grandma and myself all headed to Covent Garden to the Louis Vuitton Series 3 exhibition which was AMAZING!!! We got to see all the new collection as well as see the process of the making of the classic LV hard clutch. There was also a section where we could touch a selection of the pieces from the collection which was so cool.

After that very exciting experience we headed to my favourite place in the world... Yes you guessed it: Laduree. Honestly, it's becoming a bit of a birthday tradition to go there on my birthday. I had a green tea (of course) as well as the French toast which was life changing, no joke.

Once I had drank around 4 cups of tea we decided to have a mooch about and looked in all my favourite shops though surprising I didn't buy anything!

We then got back on the tube and headed to Oxford Circus (which thankfully was only 1 stop) for my early birthday dinner. Yet, not before stopping in on the unmissable and massive Topshop. Where I did in fact buy a new pair of jeans and a jumper (gotta get that winter wardrobe going).

Now with a Topshop bag in my hand, we walked the little way to Berners Tavern to meet my dad, little brother and best friend for an early birthday dinner. The restaurant had the most amazing interior, I was awe-truck. I had the most amazing time as well as the most amazing dinner (definitely could eat it right now). After feeling as if I had eaten enough to feed a small country we headed back home to watch the Xfactor (is anyone else watching it??) and had a nice night it.

I had the most amazing, unforgettable 16th birthday and I'm excited to see what my new year brings.
