Ladies who Brunch

As bad as it is, I'm not a breakfast person at all. I never really have been, but I can honestly say I love going to brunch. Me and my cousin Zoe are always looking for new places to try out and we both felt like going to Notting hill so I looked around at some places where we could eat and came across Granger & Co, it is an australian chain restaurant and we decided to give it a go. We probably didn't pick the best day to go because as it is a very popular place and it is also a sunday; there was a rather long queue outside but we decided to wait it out, and let me tell you I'm so glad we did, haha.

I got scrambled eggs with sough-dough toast and avocado and Zoe got ricotta hotcakes, but we ended up eating half then swapping plates because they were both so nice and we just had to try both, haha.

After finishing up our very very delicious lunch we headed a bit down the road to portobello market, stopping every few minutes to take a picture of the very pretty area that is notting hill.

After walking through the market, trying on a pair of Ozzy Osbourne sunglasses and walking past the temptation that is the best chocolate waffles ever we got to the pastel coloured houses that I'm so in love with where we took a few 'ootd' pictures.

This has honestly been my 'go to' outfit this easter break. Its that outfit that I can just quickly throw on and look at least a little presentable, haha.

tshirt - Topshop
jeans - Topshop
blazer - Topshop
shoes - Zara
bag - Balenciaga

(if you can't tell I quite frequently shop in topshop, haha)

On a side note, who else desperately wants to be at coachella !! How amazing does it look, ughh … one day.

Anyway I hope everyone has a lovely sunday - or what is left of it…

London Fashion Weekend

The second I found out I had tickets to LFWend my mind immediately went into a virtual shopping mode, thinking of every possible outfit I could wear. Yet I left it thinking… 'New York and London fashion week will be just before you can get inspiration from them' and yet in true 'Maija form' I left it to the day before to get my outfit. After spending around two hours in Zara going in and out of the changing rooms like a yo-yo I finally found the perfect outfit and left my local shopping centre at around 10:30pm. All worth it though, haha.

London Fashion Weekend is an event held at Somerset house by Vodafone, the british fashion council and this year it was sponsored by theoutnet.com meaning in certain catwalks clothes were provided from the company. It is a fashion show which is held the weekend after London fashion week yet unlike LFW which on most occasions you have to be personally invited to; LFWend is open to the public to buy tickets for, and luckily I was able to get tickets, thanks to my Grandma.

It was an early start, the first catwalk being at 10:30am. As soon as we got there I was overwhelmed by people just like me… obsessed with fashion! I was looking from right to left taking at all the outfits people had put together around me. Some I loved and mentally made a point to try and recreate, some I didn't love so much, yet all the outfits were so unique. It was amazing, the diversity in style.

Before we could enter the event my mum had to get her coffee fix, but after that we entered and was met by a gigantic sign, just incase we didn't know where we were, haha.

The First Catwalk was a Trend show, it showed four different trends for the upcoming spring/summer seasons, all outfits provided by theoutnet.com

The first trend shown was 'Hyper Florals' and I'm totally loving it, I mean florals are always an essential in every wardrobe especially in spring yet the floral prints shown were much more bold than the typical girly florals and I can't wait to invest in some 'hyper Floral' pieces into my wardrobe.

The next trend was 'Make it Monochrome' which was surprising as normally as soon as it hits the spring season all the bright colours that weren't used in winter are brought out, yet I'm not complaining as I thing some of the best classy, chic outfits consist of just just black and white.

The third trend for spring/summer shown in the trend catwalk was 'Shimmer & Shine' which represented pure girly chic pastels and iridescent pieces. A trend no S/S wardrobe can go without.

And last but not at all least, 'That Seventies Show', quite possibly my favourite trend on the catwalk. There were numerous gasps of horror when it was stated that flares and fringe were returning but I say bring it, I think it's gonna be a crazy cool trend that will be really cool to mix with more modern trends.

The first Catwalk show lasted for around 30-45 minutes so we had plenty of time to walk around Somerset House before the next show which was at 1:30am. Some of the rooms inside the Somerset building was filled with different upcoming brands so my mum and I decided to wonder around and take a peak. We also picked up our 'goodie bags' which consisted of lots of cute bits and bobs. I also got some new pumps from a brand called 'French Sole' which I had actually heard of before as there is a small shop just off of New Bond street in London. As the lady helping me said; they are rather "Chanel esk".

After walking around a little more we headed to the next Catwalk after realising a little bit of a queue was building up. After going in and getting settled in our front row seats the show began. This catwalk was a designer catwalk showing the works of the American designer Halston Heritage. There was a little documentary on Halston before it began and I was rather intrigued after learning he designed many outfits for the likes of Jackie Kennedy and many other famous people of the past.

How gorgeous are all those pieces !!

I also found a little quiet part of the Somerset House grounds to take my outfit Pictures.

I had the best day ever, I like to think of it as a little taster to what the future could have in mind for me, hopefully. Thankyou so so much to my grandma for getting me the tickets, my first ever fashion show!

Stepping into Spring

Here in London spring is probably the most awkward season - fashion wise. The weather during spring is always identical to the weather during the winter, if not colder, which means there are no pretty floral skirts or denim shorts entering my wardrobe anytime soon. Although the colours for sure get brighter and more cheerful, we get to start entering pinks, yellows and florals back into are colour palette (lets pretend 'floral' is colour, haha).

Shoes are maybe the only thing that change during this season; ballet pumps begin to be able to be worn without your feet freezing off and espadrilles come back into season, yay !!

This is my "Spring Shoe Wishlist"

Valentino Rockstud's

  • These are my absolute all time dream shoes (well valentino's in general) but for this spring/summer season they came out with these pastel edition 'watercolour rockstud ballerina pumps'. Pastel colours !! They have my name written all over them, haha.

Zara 'Slip ons'
  • Last autumn I got leopard print slip ons from Zara and they quickly became an essential in my wardrobe, then when I was browsing the website recently I saw they had all new ones in stock and I fell in love with these metallic 'champagne' colour slips ons. They are perfect for spring - especially here where the weathers still lacking in any type of heat.

Chanel Espadrilles
  • Every year Chanel brings out a slightly different design of espadrilles, and every year I fall crazy and deeply in love with every pair I see. This year as part of the Chanel cruise 2015 collection they bought out these gorgeous suede brightly coloured espadrilles which I have (like I said before) obviously fallen in love with. I mean… how amazing are they !!

Zara Booties
I'm not crazy about booties, but every now and then I will see a pair and be instantly in love with them. This happened to be the case with this pair. As you can see they are suede (I must be really loving this suede trend at the moment) and they are the prettiest sky blue colour.

Tods
  • I have a love hate relationship with Tods - during spring and summer I love them I think they are the cutest shoes and are aways at the top of my wish list yet in the autumn and winter season they just don't appeal to me as much (weird, I know). Yet, I saw these gorgeous lilac pair online and as you can guess I fell in love with them.

Well, I hope you like some of my favourite shoes at the moment, comment any of your 'wish list shoes' for spring. A girls always gotta be lusting over new shoes. Always.

(I think I slightly overused the phrase 'in love' during this blogpost, but I mean, that's what happens when you try describing your favourite shoes).

Kisses,

A Valentines day in London

Happy Valentines day lovelies !! I woke up to a cute "love u" cookie and a valentines edition box of guylians… from my mum that is, haha.

Instead of sitting home watching sad, tear-jerking movies (which was one of my options) I decided to meet my cousin, Zoe, in London. Recently I had heard about a market called 'Maltby Street Market' which is a food market a little away from London bridge. So me and my cousin decided to give it a look at.

I had the best cheese toastie, EVER. It was from a stall called 'the cheese truck' and oh my god… it was mouthwatering!! In my haste to devour it I totally forgot to take a photo of it (a travesty - I know) but just take my word for it… best cheese toastie in London.

Me and Zoe also both got salted caramel brownies called 'Bad Brownies', let me tell you they are not bad. At all.

Enough talking about food, haha, after finishing off at the food market we decided as most of the day was still left we would get the bus to south bank where we went down some backroads and managed to get some cute outfit pictures. (as well as getting a Starbucks)

Jacket - New Look
Tshirt - Forever 21
Jeans - Topshop
Shoes - Zara
Bag - Balenciaga
Drink - Starbucks (haha)

I had a lovely day with my cousin, it is always a fun time when seeing her. I hope everyone had a lovely day whether it was spent with your loves, friends or even on your own with Netflix and a nice pizza.

We can all be each others valentines !!

Kisses,
